Colour

Deep amber with mahogany edges and a warm copper-gold glow.

Nose

Ripe red apple mingles with fragrant clove and ginger spice, bright and inviting. Dried fruits emerge with tangerine peel, while a subtle beeswax polish lends refined, waxy depth to the aroma.

Palate

Orange oil gives way to a stewed raisin with spicy black pepper. Raspberry compote and walnut flavours lead to soft dried tobacco and charred oak.

Finish

A full, lingering finish with festive spices.

(ben-ROM-ach) Benromach first opened in 1900, and is situated next to the railway line in Forres, about 25 miles east of Inverness on the main route to Aberdeen. Like many distilleries that opened around this time, the distillery survived until the 1980s, but with many changes of ownership and extended periods of closure.
