One of only 164 bottles from a single Re-fill Hogshead. This 25 year old Benrinnes independently bottled by Hunter Laing was distilled in June 1997 and bottled in August 2022 at a natural cask strength.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery edges and a radiant honey-gold core, a sun-warmed bronze that glows in the glass.

Nose

Sweet yellow apples, caramel and honey mingle with a delicate touch of liquorice.

Palate

Oily, meaty on the palate, with honey roast ham sweetness and toasted malt.

Finish

Long, lingering toasted malt with a bright touch of orange zest, gradually fading to a warm, citrus-kissed finish.

Benrinnes
(ben-RIN-is) Benrinnes was first established in 1826 by Peter MacKenzie at Whitehouse Farm near Aberlour, on the lower slopes of Ben Rinnes. The original distillery was destroyed by flooding in 1829, with a new site later developed nearby. After early ownership changes, David Edward took over in 1864, and the distillery was sold to John Dewar & Sons in 1922 before becoming part of DCL three years later. It is now owned by Diageo.
