Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany glow.

Nose

Bright salted lemon and sunlit pineapple open the nose, followed by honeysuckle. Dried apricots drift in with brown sugar, a soft, inviting sweetness.

Palate

Sweet citrus fruits and watermelon mingle with spicy peppercorns. Marzipan and subtle charred oak unfold, with a hint of dried tobacco.

Finish

Medium to long, the finish rests on roasted nuts, a warm, toasty echo that lingers gracefully.

Benrinnes
(ben-RIN-is) Benrinnes was first established in 1826 by Peter MacKenzie at Whitehouse Farm near Aberlour, on the lower slopes of Ben Rinnes. The original distillery was destroyed by flooding in 1829, with a new site later developed nearby. After early ownership changes, David Edward took over in 1864, and the distillery was sold to John Dewar & Sons in 1922 before becoming part of DCL three years later. It is now owned by Diageo.
