Colour
Deep amber with mahogany and coppery highlights, a rich sherry-warmed glow.
Nose
Sherry-dark and opulent, this opens with raisin and fig mingling with plum and orange rind, layered over nutty oak. Spices—clove, cinnamon, a hint of nutmeg—seep through; a touch of cocoa and treacle adds depth. Rich, inviting, and unmistakably Benrinnes, its robust, fruit-forward character is elevated by age and sherry cask influence.
Palate
Powerful and layered, this Benrinnes pours a velvety wave of dark dried fruits—fig, raisin, plum—under sherry spice and toasted oak. Rich chocolate, burnt sugar and orange zest mingle with liquorice and subtle leather, while bold cask tannins provide structure. At 56.9%, the mouthfeel is warm and full, finishing long with clove, cocoa and oak.
Finish
Long, warming finish of dried plum and raisin, wrapped in cocoa and toffee notes, with orange zest and spice—cinnamon, clove—settling into supple oak tannins that linger softly, inviting the next sip.
