Benriach Single Cask #6394 Whisky 17 Year Old · 1998 Vintage
Out of stock
A very interesting release form the 12th batch of single cask bottlings from BenRiach. This is a 17 year old single malt Scotch whisky which was triple distilled! Unusual to see riple distilled whisky from the Speyside region, more commonly seen in Lowlands whiskies. Nevertheless, this triple distilled whisky was placed into the cask in 1998 and bottled 17 years later, but not before a finishing period in a Pedro Ximénez Sherry puncheon. The outturn was 702 bottles.
Somewhat similar to Glendronach in character, the BenRiach 1998 vintage nonetheless has a charm all its own. Well-balanced yet intense, with plenty of leather, honey, spice and fruit.

Nose
Rich sultanas and orchard fruits drizzled with wildflower honey and warmed by red chilli spices.

White pepper and crisp citrus lift the palate, softening to plum juice, with a gentle fruit sweetness. Apple sponge dusted with fresh ground barley adds a subtle grainy texture that lingers alongside the spice, delivering a balanced, refined finish.
