Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with rich copper highlights and a touch of mahogany at the edges.
Nose
Sherry-cask perfume dominates with raisin and fig soak, mingling orange zest, dark chocolate, and toasted almond. Underneath, vanilla and toffee drift through toasted oak, with a gentle spice of cinnamon and clove. An elegant, velvety sweetness hints at age and refinement.
Palate
Silky and rich on the palate, this old Bell’s unfurls sherried depth with a lush sweetness. Dried fig and raisin fuse with toffee, vanilla and toasted almond, while subtle oak lends gentle spice. The 40% frame keeps it elegant, delivering a refined, resinous warmth that lingers with cocoa, fruitcake and a delicate smokiness.
Finish
Long, warming finish with sherried sweetness lingering over oak and spice; dried fig and raisin mingle with cocoa, leather and toasted almond, fading to a soft caramel warmth.
