Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Out of stock
The very first batch and only available from the distillery, now very rare and very collectable, especially if you going for the full set. The whiskies chosen are from a 1973 Sherry Butt, a 1972 Sherry Hogshead and American casks from the years 1966,1974, 1978, and 1988.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany edge—a warm, wine-golden glow in the glass.
Nose
A luxurious sherried bouquet of prune, raisin and fig, lifted by orange zest and toasted almond. Dark chocolate and espresso mingle with vanilla–caramel oak from the American casks, while leather, spice and a hint of nutmeg weave through a polished, syrupy sweetness, signaling depth, age and rare provenance.
Palate
Opulent and full-bodied, it unfolds with sherried fruit and velvet oak. Raisin, fig and orange peel mingle with vanilla, toffee and cocoa, while cinnamon and clove lift the mid-palate. Silky mouthfeel and warm, measured alcohol lead to a long finish of walnut, dark chocolate and lingering spice.
Finish
An extraordinarily long, refined finish. Sherry richness threads through dried fig and orange zest, entwined with velvety oak, vanilla and spice. The warmth lingers gracefully, with nutty cocoa notes fading to cedar and leather, leaving an elegant, lasting balance.
