Auchentoshan Chapter 7 Single Cask #100155 Whisky 22 Year Old · 1998 Vintage
Out of stock
Auchentoshan is the only Scottish distillery to triple distil all its whisky. You tend to only see triple distillation in Irish Whisky. The process is rather complex and the new make spirit that comes out of the 3rd still is at 82% ABV. Triple distillation removes the heavy flavours and harshness. Because of the process, you can get a lot more cask character and influence.
This single barrel whisky has matured for 22 years. That long maturation has developed a beautiful spirit. This is our first Lowland whisky, and it's a special one. It was worth waiting for.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery glints and a tawny mahogany edge, a warm, sunlit hue that glows with sherry-influenced richness.
Nose
Sherry-cask glow with refined sweetness: dried plum, fig and raisin mingle with orange zest, toffee and vanilla. Subtle cocoa nib, toasted almond and a whisper of spice rise from the polished oak. A soft, warming nose that speaks of 22 years in cask, delivering true Lowland elegance with a delicately nutty finish.
Palate
Silky, creamy and exceptionally refined, this 22-year Auchentoshan offers bright orange zest and dried apricots from the sherry cask, married with almond, honeyed toffee and a touch of cocoa. Subtle spice and warm oak weave through, finishing with a long, nutty, caramel-inflected glow.
Finish
Long, silky finish infused with sherry warmth. Orange zest and dried fig give way to cocoa and toffee, carried by toasted oak and a whisper of spice. A refined, barley-sweet glow lingers, slowly fading to a warm, elegant echo.
