Arran Machrie Moor - 8th Edition Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Out of stock
The classic fresh Arran Malt character with a puff of peat smoke.
This is the 8th Edition released October 2017.
On the west coast of the Isle of Arran lies a windswept and mystical peat bog called Machrie Moor. Bronze Age stone circles and standing stones are strewn across its barren, undulating terrain. One of the stone circles is known as Fingal’s Cauldron Seat, where sits a stone with a carved hole. The legendary warrior giant Fingal is said to have tethered his favourite dog Bran to this stone.
This peated expression of the Arran Single Malt perfectly captures the rugged beauty and lore of the landscape.
Unleash the legend that is Machrie Moor.
Arran produce one small batch of Machrie Moor Single Malt every year, in autumn.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Warm copper-gold with deep amber and bronze undertones, a glowing, sunlit hue.
Nose
Dried grass on the breeze meets a clean peat smoke, refined by a veil of vanilla. Subtle tropical fruit hints tip the aroma with a bright, sunlit sweetness that promises both freshness and coastal warmth.
Palate
Bright citrus bursts on the palate, giving way to a plume of peat smoke. The peat remains earthy and clean, while pineapple adds a tropical lift that keeps the sweetness buoyant, finishing with a crisp, lingering smoke.
Finish
Long finish of citrus zest and tropical fruit, carried by a steady peat smoke that gradually fades to vanilla warmth. A clean, coastal sweetness lingers, leaving the palate refreshed and lightly smoky.
