The Abyss is an exceptionally rare whisky, limited to 400 bottles. Ardbeg have collaborated with acclaimed comic book artist Tradd Moore to create a limited edition comic to sit alongside the very rare ‘heart of Corryvreckan’ Whisky from 1989.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Dense, deep amber with coppery-bronze tones and mahogany highlights.
Nose
An opulent yet mellow perfume: rich, pungent, and aromatic without harshness. Toasted marshmallows mingle with aromatic tea leaves, roasted chestnut and baking sourdough, while zestier lemon balsam flickers at the edge. A lingering sweetness hints at demerara sugar, edged by antique leather. With a touch of water, herbal top notes emerge—the brightness of lemon sherbet and pine resin lifting the fragrance.
Palate
A wonderfully mellow mouthfeel with a hint of spice, then bold new flavours unfold: dark chocolate, pecan toffee, aged leather, clove and ginger, plus treacle and a touch of creosote. Smoke remains ever-present, gracefully entwined with assertive oak tannins.
Finish
Enticing hints of baked apple, aniseed and oak linger on the aftertaste, shaping a refined, lasting finish.
