Ardbeg Limited Edition Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 39 Year Old · 1965 Vintage
Out of stock
When the Ardbeg distillery was taken over in the mid-1990's the two oldest casks in their archive were vatted to create this incredibly rare release of just 261 bottles each of which were provided with a miniature tasting sized bottle and pair of white gloves and of which this packagae inscomplete with both.
The bottle doesn't haver a label, but instead a series of micro-particles created by a company called Stealth Mark™ ensures that each numbered bottle of Ardbeg 1965 can never be replicated or forged.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-bronze highlights and a mahogany edge, a warm, aged glow.
Nose
Opulent peat smoke swirls with medicinal iodine and sea air, brightened by citrus zest. Beneath, ancient oak sweetness and vanilla emerge, while leather and subtle spice lend a refined, maritime finish to this legendary Islay aroma.
Palate
Silky, weighty palate of refined peat, with medicinal iodine and sea-salt nuance. Dried fig, treacle and dark chocolate mingle with a lift of orange zest, while sherry-derived fruit sweetness provides backbone. A peppery spine and lingering smoke drive a long, cocoa-edged finish crowned by mineral, maritime notes.
Finish
Monumental and lingering, the finish opens with peat smoke and sea-salt, evolving into iodine, resinous oak, and dark fruit from sherry whispers. Warm and mouth-coating, it slowly fades to mineral coastal notes with a final ember glow.
