Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with mahogany undertones and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Peat smoke and sea salt surge, with medicinal iodine and a briny breeze. Dark fruit—fig and blackberry—unfold under rich sherry, cocoa nibs, and toasted spice, while vanilla lingers with a hint of leather and oak, delivering a coastal, luxurious Islay aroma.
Palate
Bold and maritime on the palate: dense peat smoke entwined with sea salt, edged by sherry-rich dark fruit and cacao. Black pepper, clove, and oak spice fan warmth across the tongue, while velvety oils cloak the mouth. A long, smoky finish lingers with chocolate, dried fig and a buoyant saline lift.
Finish
Long, maritime peat lingers with smoky coastal brine, slowly fading into a velvet warmth. Dark chocolate and espresso notes persist, guided by peppery spice and mineral bite from the Islay air. The finish is deep, luxurious, and enduring, a refined echo of Ardbeg’s coast and cask complexity.
