Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery mahogany highlights.
Nose
Razor-sharp peat smoke and medicinal iodine dominate, edged with salty coastal brine. Beneath, sherry-influenced dried fig and raisin mingle with cocoa and a hint of orange zest. Silky vanilla and leather soften the intensity, while a mineral, maritime snap adds refinement and keeps the aroma taut.
Palate
Bold, full-bodied palate of intensely peated smoke and brine, tempered by an oil-rich mouthfeel. Layered with medicinal iodine, charcoal, and sea salt, it opens into dark chocolate, espresso, and toffee from the sherry cask influence. Rich vanilla and oak spice creep in as the 56% ABV lingers, tapering to a long, peppery, smoky finish with a mineral tingle.
Finish
Long, cinematic finish of coastal peat, iodine and smoke, slowly softening into dark chocolate and espresso. Subtle sherry sweetness threads through, while peppery warmth lingers, leaving a salted, resinous wake that coats the palate with a lasting, lacquered glow.
