Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with mahogany depths and copper-ruby glints.
Nose
Opulent sherry-drenched nose with dried plum, raisin and fig at the fore, folded around dark cherry and prune. Orange zest, cocoa, and caramel-toffee add sweetness, while toasted almond lends nutty richness. Spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—rise with warm oak, cedar and a whisper of leather and tobacco. A lush Highlands bouquet, impeccably poised at substantial strength.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and richly layered, it coats the palate with dark dried fruit—raisin, fig—alongside cocoa, praline almond and delicate toffee. Sherry influence brings warm spice—clove, cinnamon—plus a whisper of orange zest, all carried on a velvety oak backbone. The 49.9% ABV lends subtle bite and a lingering, warming finish that mirrors the cask’s mature complexity.
Finish
Long, sherry-rich finish with dried raisin and fig, a whisper of orange zest and spice, layered over dark chocolate and toasted oak. Silky and persistent, it coats the palate, fading to almond and tobacco.
