Summer berries with autumn spice and fruitcake. The palate has stewed fruit, demerara sugar and sweet apple. The finish is full and long lasting with dried cherry and charred oak.

Nose

Aromas of ripe summer berries rise with autumn spice and hints of fruitcake. Dried cherry threads through a backdrop of toffee and toasted oak, suggesting sherried sweetness and a velvety, inviting depth.

Palate

Stewed fruit on the palate, supported by sweet apple and demerara sugar, delivering a rich, fruit-forward sweetness with a soft, rounded mouthfeel.

Finish

A full, long-lasting finish that lingers with dried cherry and charred oak, leaving a warm, resinous echo on the palate.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
