The Macallan Single Highland Malt Whisky 17 Year Old · 1965 Vintage
Out of stock
A vintage 17 year old Speyside single malt that was distilled at The Macallan distillery in 1965 and bottled for the UK market in 1983.
This exceptionally rare Sherry-matured Macallan is vastly desirable and rare.
A 17 year maturation (in a sherry cask of course), this was released as part of The Macallan's Special Selection range. It was bottled in 1983 but as only full years in the cask are counted, it is still only a 17 year old whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with copper-gold highlights and a rich, chestnut-tinged glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry aroma of dried figs and prunes, raisin sweetness and orange zest. Rich cocoa and coffee mingle with toffee, cinnamon, and nutmeg, while polished oak and a whisper of leather lend depth. A luxurious, fruit-forward invitation.
Palate
Velvet and full-bodied, this Macallan unfolds with sherry-forward fruit across the palate—prune, raisin and fig mingling with dark chocolate, toffee and espresso. Spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—emerge, then give way to silky oak and a waxy, refined mouthfeel. The finish is long and warming, with orange zest and dried fruit lingering gracefully.
Finish
Long, velvety finish saturated with sherry sweetness. Dark fruit notes of prune, raisin and fig unfold into cacao, espresso and toasted almond, while warm spice and refined oak linger gracefully on the palate, a dignified echo of aged cask and Macallan’s classic balance.
