Colour

Deep golden amber with warm copper undertones.

Nose

Sherry-cask perfume with rich dried figs and raisins, orange zest and toffee, vanilla and cocoa, framed by warm oak and a whisper of cinnamon.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied palate of dried fruits—raisins and figs—framed by toffee, orange zest and creamy vanilla. Rich sherry oak lends depth, with toasted almond and a warm spice lift, finishing long and harmonious.

Finish

The finish is long and luxurious, with warming sherry sweetness lingering alongside orange zest, toffee and dark chocolate. Gentle spice and toasted oak echo in the tail, leaving a soft, cinnamon-tinged warmth.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
