Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper-gold highlights and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Opulent sherry-soaked aroma, velvet with dried fruit—raisin, fig and date—alongside lavish vanilla and toffee. Zests of orange lift the sweetness, while almond, cocoa and spice weave through polished oak. A refined whisper of leather and tobacco hints at age, finishing with a graceful, enduring elegance.
Palate
Silky and opulent on the palate, this 1956 Macallan delivers dried fig and raisin with orange zest, cocoa, toffee and toasted oak. Sherry sweetness lingers—molasses, spice, cinnamon and clove—alongside subtle espresso. Creamy texture with a gentle tannic lift gives way to a long, warm finish of dark fruit, fudge and resinous timber.
Finish
An enduring, elegant finish with dried fig, orange zest and sherried sweetness, mingling with gentle spice. Velvet oak carries cacao, toasted almond and a hint of leather, with a warm, lingering glow that slowly fades to a refined sweetness.
