Opulent sherry aromas unfold with dark plum, raisin and fig, braided with orange zest. Toffee, vanilla, and toasted oak mingle with baking spices—cinnamon and nutmeg—alongside a cocoa-tinged depth, hinting at luxurious cask influence and Christmas-pudding richness.

Palate

Silky, sherried palate with dark fruit, fig and orange peel, enriched by vanilla, toffee and cocoa. Spices—cinnamon and nutmeg—thread through refined oak, delivering a warm, lingering finish that invites the next sip.

Finish

Long, luxurious finish with sherried sweetness, orange zest, and dark chocolate. Spices—cinnamon and clove—expand into toasted oak and caramel, leaving a warm, velvety glow on the palate that lingers and beckons another measured sip.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
