Nose

An enveloping perfume of rich sherry, this Macallan greets with dark raisins and figs, orange peel, and toasted almond. Layered with caramel, vanilla, and a kiss of cinnamon and cocoa, all woven into warm, oak-bound elegance.

Palate

Silky and rich, with sherried depth. Dried fruits—raisins and sultanas—layer with candied orange, fig, and almond. Cinnamon and clove spice mingle with dark chocolate and toasted oak, delivering a warm, long finish.

Finish

Long, luxurious finish with warm sherry-induced sweetness giving way to orange zest, dried fruit and cocoa. Subtle spice threads through the velvet oak, concluding with cinnamon and a refined, lingering warmth that invites the next sip.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
