This series is widely recognised as one of the most collectable whiskies in the world. The 2018 series was made available for Asia and the USA. The series originated from some single cask bottlings in the 90's that are described at some of the greatest Macallans of them all.
The date of distillation for this exceptionally hard to find bottling from Macallan is back on the 20th of October 1997. Matured in a refill American Sherry hogshead (Ref: 2018/ASH-14813/12). Only 187 bottles were produced from this cask!
It was bottled in 2018 on the 15th of October and selected by one of the distillers, Sarah Burgess. This is the 12th release in the series.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with copper-bronze glints and a mahogany edge, a warm, sherried glow.
Nose
Rich sherried fruit unfurls in a plume of orange zest, dried fig and raisin, wrapped in velvety vanilla and toffee. Oak lends polish with cedar and a whisper of nutmeg, while cocoa and almond add depth. An aromatic warmth lingers, inviting the next sip.
Palate
Silky and generous, this Macallan coats the palate with honeyed vanilla, toasted oak and caramel, lifted by subtle dried-fruit notes of apricot and fig. Spices—ginger, clove and cinnamon—emerge with a whisper of coffee and dark chocolate. The refill American Sherry cask lends a refined sweetness and a polished, oak-kissed finish that lingers gracefully.

Long, graceful finish with refined sherry sweetness—dried fruit, orange zest and spice unfold, spilling into cocoa-dusted oak and a lingering whisper of vanilla.
