The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old forms part of Macallan's Sherry Oak Collection which features a series of single malt whiskies matured in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. A full bodied palate of mature oak, ginger and raisin flavours is complimented by a light mahogany natural colour.
Another rare Macallan 18 year old, this time from a 1970 distilled cask, which seems to have been a particullarly fantastic vintage.

Colour
Light mahogany with a natural, warm glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry-driven bouquet with dark raisin and dried plum, folded into toasted oak. Notes of orange zest, fig and spice such as cinnamon and clove, underpin a subtle caramel sweetness, all wrapped in mahogany richness.
Palate
On the palate, a full-bodied weave of mature oak and ginger spice frames a generous core of raisin sweetness. The sherry influence lends depth and complexity, with a warm, lingering finish that hints at mahogany-toned richness.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish with dried raisin and ginger lingering in velvety oak; a subtle sherry sweetness persists, weaving warm spice and toasted wood into the lingering afterglow.
