The English Single Cask #001 - Single Malt English Whisky 18 Year Old · 2006 Vintage
Out of stock
Single Cask #001 is a landmark release, representing the very first cask filled at England’s first licensed whisky distillery in over a century.
Distilled in 2006 by Iain Henderson and hand-filled by founder James Nelstrop, this whisky has matured with extraordinary care, spending time in both sherry and American oak.
The result is an unpeated, natural cask strength expression with rich layers of dark fruit, warm spice and oak complexity. Only 60 bottles have been released, each presented in a bespoke hand-blown Langham Glass decanter with a certificate of authenticity – a true collector’s piece.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany depths and copper-bronze highlights; a warm, resonant glow that hints at sherry and oak maturation.
Nose
Sherry-dark and fruit-forward, black plum, fig and blackberry mingle with raisin sweetness. Spices bloom—cinnamon, clove, vanilla—against rich, toasted oak and a touch of cacao. Unpeated and powerful, the aroma carries warm, resinous depth with a refined, slightly leathery edge from the oak.
Palate
Opulent, cask-strength palate of dark fruits—black cherry, plum and fig—layered with sherry influence and toasted American oak. Warm spice of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg rises against vanilla and leather, delivering a velvety, full-bodied texture. Long, warming finish with refined complexity.
Finish
Long, warming finish of rich dark fruit and lingering spice, braided with oak from sherry and American casks. At cask strength, the finish remains expansive and refined, slowly fading to a warm, wood-kissed echo.
