Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with mahogany and copper undertones, a glossy, wine-dark glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry on the nose with a cascade of dark dried fruits—figs, raisins and dates—touched by orange zest, treacle and a hint of cocoa. Toasted almond and walnut mingle with warm oak spice, cinnamon and clove, plus a sly leather note. At cask strength, a vibrant, resinous lift with a luxurious, lingering finish.
Palate
Bold and full-bodied, this coats the palate with velvety dried-fruit depth—raisin, fig, date—carried by rich Oloroso influence. Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg ride atop dark chocolate and treacle, with oak adding warmth and spice. At 60.4%, a peppery, warming bite lingers into a long, spiced finish.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish, sherry-kissed and oak-spiced, with lingering dried fruit sweetness. Raisin, fig and prune give way to warm pepper and cocoa, fading to a velvety, enduring warmth.
