Tasting Notes

Colour

Burnished amber with copper-gold highlights.

Nose

Briny sea spray and peat smoke rise boldly, seasoned by mineral coastal notes. A peppery kick sharpens the air, while vanilla-caramel sweetness and faint dried fruit emerge from oak, with a touch of citrus zest giving a lively, maritime edge. Classic Talisker on the nose.

Palate

Peat-forward and maritime, a briny wave of sea spray and smoke coats the palate. Sharp pepper and iodine drive the midpalate, balanced by honeyed malt, vanilla, and citrus zest. The finish is long, drying and charred, with lingering salt and smoky peat.

Finish

Lingering, maritime finish: sea-salt brine and gentle peat smoke cling to the palate, peppery spice prickling the tongue, then hints of vanilla sweetness and charred oak drift away in a warm, lasting glow.

Talisker
(TAL-iss-ker) Talisker was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill in Carbost on the shores of Loch Harport, and it remains the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye. Its history includes a major stillhouse fire in 1960, after which the distillery was rebuilt with exact replicas of the original stills to preserve its character, and it now forms part of Diageo’s malt whisky portfolio.
