Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a touch of mahogany at the rim.
Nose
Powerful, aromatic nose at cask strength: warm vanilla, dulce-toffee and creamy grain glide into almonds and orange zest. Dried figs, raisins and sultanas unfold, mingle with sherry-tinged oak, cocoa nibs and a whisper of baking spice. A luxurious, inviting aroma that hints at depth and refinement.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied palate with an oily, mouth-coating texture. Notes of vanilla custard, toffee, and honey mingle with orange zest and pear. Dried fig and raisin arrive from the sherry cask, with a trace of marzipan spice. At cask strength (54.5%), the warmth is integrated into a robust, refined middle that leads to a long, nutty, cocoa-flecked finish.
Finish
Long, sherried finish with dark plum and fig, bright orange zest, toffee and toasted oak, then a warm spice and cocoa whisper that lingers luxuriously.
