Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany glow.
Nose
Intense peat smoke rises over a rich sherry backbone, with fig, raisin and dark chocolate folded in with toffee and vanilla. Sea spray and iodine cling to the edge, while roasted malt and spice lend warm, woody depth. At cask strength, the aroma is bold, maritime, and refined, polished Campbeltown peat and sherry perfume.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and warming, the palate unfurls peat-wrapped in rich sherry, with dried fig and raisin lending warmth to espresso-dark chocolate. Candied citrus and spice lift the smoke; the oil-rich texture coats the tongue, finishing long with mineral notes and a bold, oak-driven warmth.
Finish
Long, maritime peat lingers into a stately finish, smoke entwined with rich sherry sweetness. Dark fruit—fig and prune—and a touch of cocoa deepen the fade, supported by oak and spice. A saline, peppery warmth persists, exiting with a dry, nutty edge that invites another sip.
