Tasting Notes

Colour

Jet-black, glossy ceramic miniature; a sleek, collectible vessel that echoes Springbank’s storied Campbeltown mystique.

Nose

Coastal peat and sea-salt lift the aroma, weaving through toasted barley and warm vanilla. Subtle sherry notes lend dried-fruit sweetness, while iodine and smoky ember hints add a maritime edge. Rich but refined, with a gentle waxy texture and a lingering almond and citrus finish.

Palate

Coats the palate with a gentle maritime smoke and polished malt. Salty-sweet caramel, lemon zest and green apple mingle with orchard fruit, a whisper of peat, and nutty tones. Vanilla and toffee weave through, then a briny finish with soft spice and a lingering touch of oak.

Finish

Long, maritime finish with a gentle peat smoke that lingers, intertwined with saline caramel and dried fruit. Subtle oak spices drift in the tail, leaving a warm, resinous glow that invites another sip.

(SPRING-bank) The 14th distillery to be built in the region of Campbeltown, Springbank is still owned by the Mitchell family, who also own the Glengyle distillery in the same region. Springbank produces three different styles of Single Malt; Hazelburn (triple distilled and non peaty) Longrow (twice distilled and heavy peat of 50-55ppm) and Springbank itself (two and a half times distilled and peated to 12-15ppm). Springbank is also one of the few distilleries that malt their own barley and bottle on site.
