Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with sun-kissed copper highlights and a warm, honeyed glow.

Nose

Aromas of sea-kissed peat and coastal smoke rise, tempered by sherry sweetness. Caramelized fruit, figs and dried apricot mingle with toasted almond, vanilla and a hint of cocoa, while a subtle mineral note and oak spice linger on the air.

Palate

Oil-rich and medium-full, it opens with coastal peat and sea-salt brine, layered over sherry-softened dried fruit and dark chocolate. Caramel oak, orange zest, and subtle spice weave through the palate, culminating in a long, smoky, saline finish.

Finish

Long, maritime finish with whispering peat and sea-salt smoke, fading into dried fruit, cocoa and toasted oak, then a final kiss of spice that lingers warmly.

(SPRING-bank) The 14th distillery to be built in the region of Campbeltown, Springbank is still owned by the Mitchell family, who also own the Glengyle distillery in the same region. Springbank produces three different styles of Single Malt; Hazelburn (triple distilled and non peaty) Longrow (twice distilled and heavy peat of 50-55ppm) and Springbank itself (two and a half times distilled and peated to 12-15ppm). Springbank is also one of the few distilleries that malt their own barley and bottle on site.
