Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a warm bronze glow.

Nose

Fresh apple and pear rise from the glass, mingling with spiced dry smoke and the warm, inviting notes of virgin oak. A crisp, orchard-led aroma that promises depth.

Palate

A rich salted caramel sweetness coats the palate, giving way to waves of sweet pipe tobacco, liquorice and dark chocolate, then reveals warm toffee and pear with a long, comforting finish.

Finish

A warming, elegant finish of malty smoke and peanut butter, lingering with soft sweetness and a refined, inviting warmth.

Silkie Irish Whiskey is created by Sliabh Liag Distillers, a family-owned producer founded by James and Moira Doherty in County Donegal. The range takes inspiration from Donegal’s historic whiskey-making traditions and the local folklore of the Silkies, mythical seals said to shed their skins and take human form on land. The Legendary Silkie combines double and triple-distilled malt whiskeys with soft grain whiskey and a subtle proportion of peated malt.
