The Legendary Silkie Irish Whiskey is a blend of double and triple distilled malts, soft grain whiskey and a hint of peated malt. Hand-bottled by Sliabh Liag Distillers at 46% ABV, Silkie is not chill filtered giving a rich character to a super soft whiskey.

Colour

Golden amber with warm copper undertones and a sunlit honey glow.

Nose

Fresh green apple notes rise, giving way to a honeyed butteriness. A soft, orchard-fruited aroma with subtle sweetness and a creamy, inviting depth.

Palate

Orange zest opens the palate, mingling with digestive biscuits and a touch of stem ginger, all wrapped in Silkie’s signature softness with a gentle hint of peat.

Finish

A rich, sweet echo lingers on the palate, delivering a sublimely gentle finish with soft warmth.

Silkie Irish Whiskey is created by Sliabh Liag Distillers, a family-owned producer founded by James and Moira Doherty in County Donegal. The range takes inspiration from Donegal’s historic whiskey-making traditions and the local folklore of the Silkies, mythical seals said to shed their skins and take human form on land. The Legendary Silkie combines double and triple-distilled malt whiskeys with soft grain whiskey and a subtle proportion of peated malt.
