Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, sunlit amber with coppery edges and a burnished mahogany glow.
Nose
Aromas of honeyed citrus, vanilla and toasted oak mingle with a maritime breeze—briny and mineral, like Orkney sea air. Dried fruit, almond and a whisper of spice deepen into a warm, sherry-soft undercurrent from the single cask.
Palate
Full-bodied and opulent, this Sherry-cask Scapa delivers waves of dark fruit—fig, raisin and orange peel—woven with silky toffee and cocoa. Rich honeyed sweetness balances bold spice, with cinnamon and nutmeg lifting through the palate. Velvet oak provides a refined tannic backbone, while a maritime whisper threads through the mid-palate, concluding in a long, warming finish and lingering, refined sweetness.
Finish
Long, honeyed warmth with coastal brine carries dried orchard fruits, toffee and vanilla into a refined, lingering finish. Nutmeg and oak spice surface in a velvet, peppery fade, slowly receding to a whisper of sea air.
