The first of the 'Islands Series' from Sailor's Home, The Horizon - A 10 year old Irish Whiskey, triple pot distilled, a mash bill of malted and unmalted Irish barley and oats.
The original Sailor's home was built in 1856 to provide welcome and sanctuary to seafarers on their journeys - a view on the horizon. This particular expression is matured for at least 10 years in American Bourbon casks, then finished in Barbados Rum Casks resulting in a refined tropical fruit and vanilla heavy dram.

Rich amber-gold with coppery highlights and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Mouthwatering brown sugar leads the aroma, mingling with ripe tropical fruits and a subtle vanilla warmth that evokes sun-warmed Barbados casks.
Palate
On the palate, a melting pot of malted honey, ripe banana caramel and vanilla, carried by deep oak. A silky Barbados rum finish lingers, with tropical fruit brightness and a gentle spice, ending creamy and warm.
Finish
Lingering buttery toffee with a bright kiss of orange zest.
