Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, warm amber with copper-gold highlights and a honeyed, sun-warmed glow, hinting at mature oak and the intensity of full-cask maturation.
Nose
Vibrant oak and vanilla lead, unfolding into creamy toffee and honey. Fresh pear and green apple harmonize with citrus peel, while toasted spice—nutmeg, clove—lends depth. A touch of waxy maritime air and a whisper of smoke cloak the full, indulgent warmth of the cask strength.
Palate
On the palate, a furnace-hot, full-bodied assault of concentrated malt and oak envelops the senses. Rich vanilla and caramel cling to treacle-soft sweetness, while dried fig, raisin and citrus peel provide depth. Spices—cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper—flare against a velvet, oily mouthfeel. The cask-strength intensity lingers with charred oak, espresso, and a whisper of smoke, finishing long and resolute.
Finish
Long, stately, and warming, this finish unfolds at full cask strength. Rich oak, dried fruit, and vanilla begin the lingering dance, complemented by warm spice and a subtle cocoa note. The tail is resinous and enduring, fading slowly to a refined echo of wood and sweetness.
