Nantou Distillery is located in the mountains of Taiwan and is fed by fresh spring water with Its sub-tropical climate resulting in fast-maturing whisky.
Its Omar brand which means ‘amber’ in Gaelic – is said to offer an “alternative” to whisky producer Kavalan, which has “dominated” the market as one of only two distilleries in the country.
100% matured in Ex-Bourbon casks.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber with sun-kissed gold and copper undertones, a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Fresh and inviting, the nose presents lemon cheesecake, clean barley sugar, and grassy notes. Elegant spice and mellow oak intertwine with runny honey on cereal, finishing with a touch of orange rind and vanilla.
Palate
Milky rice pudding dusted with clove and nutmeg opens to vanilla sponge cake, apricot glaze and banana fudge, weaving in creamy lemon curd with a lime sherbet fizz that lingers on the tongue.
Finish
Chocolate lime sweets mingle with toffee peach and vanilla ice cream, lingering softly. A sherbet-like fizz lifts the finish, finishing on a bright note of honey-nut cereal.
