Nantou Distillery is located in the mountains of Taiwan and is fed by fresh spring water with Its sub-tropical climate resulting in fast-maturing whisky.
Its Omar brand which means ‘amber’ in Gaelic – is said to offer an “alternative” to whisky producer Kavalan, which has “dominated” the market as one of only two distilleries in the country.
100% matured in Ex-Bourbon casks.

Tasting Notes
Nose
All very fresh and inviting with lemon cheesecake, clean barley sugar and grassy notes. Elegant spice and mellow oak, runny honey on cereal, a touch of orange rind and vanilla.
Palate
Milky rice pudding dusted with clove and nutmeg, vanilla sponge cake, apricot glaze, banana fudge, creamy lemon curd and lime sherbet dip like fizz.
Finish
Chocolate lime sweets, toffee peach with vanilla ice cream, more sherbet dip like fizz and fresh honey nut cereal.
