Mosstowie (Silent) Connoisseurs Choice Single Malt Scotch Whisky Miniature 1970 Vintage
Out of stock
A rare mini bottling of Mosstowie, produced at Miltonduff distillery using Lomond stills during the ownership of Hiram Walker group.
The use of these types of stills meant a heavier style of whisky could be produced at the distillery due to the versatility of the lyne arm and rectifying plates. Most whisky produced went into Ballantines blends but some single malt, as here, was produced.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with a warm coppery glow and a hint of mahogany at the rim.
Nose
Orchard fruits bloom with lemon zest, set against a waxy, creamy malt. Vanilla and polished oak bring warmth, while hints of dried fruit whisper sherry-like richness. The Lomond-still heft lends a fuller, syrupy sweetness and a trace of almond spice, inviting a slow, elegant swirl.
Palate
Full-bodied and mouth-coating, this Mosstowie reveals a generous fruit core of ripe pear and orange zest, layered with honeyed malt and subtle caramel sweetness. Spice notes—cinnamon and clove—warm the palate, while a waxy, malty richness lingers. A gentle mineral lift and integrated oak lead to a long, smooth finish with dried fruit and toffee echoes.
Finish
Long and waxy, the finish unfolds with honeyed sweetness and dried fruit, supported by oak and spice. A sherried depth lingers on the palate, fading to gentle nutmeg and cocoa as warmth slowly fades.
