Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep ruby red with garnet glints and a luminous, wine-dark core, kissed by a coppery shimmer from its port finish.
Nose
Ripe red fruits lead the aroma—black cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant—woven with rich ruby port sweetness. Layered notes of fig and raisin mingle with vanilla and cinnamon spice, toasted oak, and a whisper of cocoa. The Speyside character threads through, rounded by polished wood from the ruby port cask.
Palate
Velvety and generously rich, the palate opens with dark cherry, fig and blackberry, layered over creamy vanilla and toffee. Port-driven sweetness lingers, while ginger spice, clove and cocoa add depth. Full-bodied yet refined, the texture is plush and slightly oily, with a warming kiss from the 50.4% ABV. A long, balanced finish of fruit, cocoa and faint oak tannin.
Finish
Velvety, port-tinted finish unfolding with ripe red fruits, dried fig and a whisper of chocolate. The refill Ruby Port cask imparts glossy sweetness interlaced with gentle spice and polished oak, stretching into a long, warming finale with subtle tannins and a cherry-liqueur glow.
