An Aba, our Whiskymaker’s lightly peated ‘sherried’, signature expression was crafted from a select marrying of Kentucky Bourbon casks, Spanish Oloroso barriques, Portuguese shaved-toasted-re-charred (STR) red wine barriques, virgin American oak casks, and Spanish Pedro Ximénez casks.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with mahogany undertones and a coppery glow.

Nose

Complex and layered, with a whisper of peat over fresh pine and oak. Orange liqueur and lemon sherbet mingle with rum-and-raisin fruit cake, liquorice and vanilla sponge. Ripe banana, gooseberry, red currant and dried mango weave through milk chocolate, inviting a richly aromatic introduction.

Palate

Luxuriously creamy with a medium peat glow, burnt heather and embers giving way to prunes, dried figs and apricots. Malted milk and stewed apples mingle with peaches, blooming heather, lavender and daffodils, then linseed oil and marzipan. Oak lingers through a dry, light peat finish with a seaside note, true to its island home.

Dry, light peat finish with an unmistakable seaside essence and lingering oak.
