This 2014 Inchmurrin is a marriage of a second fill bourbon barrel and a first fill sherry hogshead, bottled at 12 years old and 53% ABV. It shows the distillery’s naturally exuberant fruitiness particularly well, with the two casks combining to give a profile that feels both exotic and dark-fruited, supported by waxes, honey and a slightly oily, mineral edge. It is a distinctive, characterful Highland malt with plenty of individuality.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Dried exotic and dark fruits mingle with heather honey, edged by mineral oil and old coins, with a soft whisper of sheep wool and bright fruit salad juices.
Palate
Waxes, olive oil and subtle putty layer the palate, with camphor lending a mineral lift, buttered toast and sweet cereals weaving through, then spiced winter ale notes rise in a lingering, warming finish.
Finish
Long, tropical, increasingly luscious and oily.
