Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights.
Nose
Opulent sherry-laced aromas rise in waves: dried fig, raisin and date mingle with orange zest and dark chocolate. Vanilla, honey and toffee drape over toasted oak, while cinnamon and clove spice add warmth. At cask strength, the nose feels rich, velvety, and inviting, hinting at the depth to come on the palate.
Palate
Full cask strength Linkwood coats the palate with satin warmth and sherried depth. Dried fruits—raisin, fig, apricot—stride with toffee, vanilla and cocoa, balanced by orchard sweetness. Cinnamon, nutmeg and clove rise over polished oak, weaving a spicy, elegant backbone. The finish is long and warming, with whispers of espresso and leather lingering after the last sip.
Finish
Long, warming finish at cask strength, with sultana and fig sweetness fading into toffee and vanilla, then layers of dark chocolate, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sherry depth coats the palate, leaving a resinous oak grip and a dry, slowly fading echo of fruit and spice, lingering with hints of leather and almond.
