"A big, sooty, intense affair, with sweet fruits tumbling under the frothy, smoky, peat attack, with some notes of iodine, seaweed and barbecued fish."
Received a 2nd maturation in small quarter sized casked which really impart their woodyness of this fine Islay dram and which also defies belief at this price, highly recommended

"A great distillery back to its awesome, if a little sweet, self. Layer upon layer of sexed up peatiness."

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a warm bronze sheen.
Nose
Big, sooty peat dominates, releasing an intense smoky perfume with ripe, sweet fruit blooming beneath. Iodine and seaweed weave through the aroma, with a whisper of barbecued fish, all carried by a gentle, warming woodiness from the quarter-cask maturation.
Palate
Bold, sooty peat bursts onto the palate alongside a ripe fruit sweetness, then becomes frothy and smoky. Iodine and seaweed cut through, with a coastal edge of barbecued fish. The quarter-cask finish adds warm wood influence, giving a creamy, resinous warmth that modulates the smoke and leaves a long, saline peat echo.
Finish
An enduring, smoky finale carried on iodine and sea-salt undertones, with faint sweetness and maritime peat persisting. The quarter-cask maturation leaves a rounded, woody warmth that slowly fades to a peppery, ember-brushed finish.
