Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with burnished copper highlights.

Nose

Sooty five-spice with boggy, earthy-iodine peat; chilli flakes on seaweed, caramelised onions and curry powder fried together. An almost meaty, tarry, hemp-like note lingers.

Palate

Malty, sweet peat with briny honey, chilli heat and white pepper over seaweed, amplified by iodine. Smoked ribs on a coastal barbecue mingle with five-spice, smoked toffee and sooty aniseed, delivering a long, savoury finish edged with salt and smoke.

Finish

Salty iodine with chilli flake and vanilla; earthy yet sweet, fish oils and black liquorice linger, carried on a persistent peat smoke.
