Gold Medal Series (1981) – Bottle # 7 Released in 2006
The 7th and final bottle in the Gold Medal Series celebrates the most recent gold medal Jack Daniel’s has received, and perhaps the most prestigious. Despite the strict judging criteria, Jack Daniel’s came away with the institution’s top medal, the highly sought after Grand Gold Medal with Palm Leaves. This commemorative bottle celebrating that achievement was released in 2006.
Beginning in 1996 and continuing for the next 10 years, the Jack Daniel Distillery released its Gold Medal Series of commemorative bottles. Comprised of seven unique designs, each bottle in this series celebrates a different gold medal won by the Distillery. In the U.S., the series featured 750ml bottles filled with 90 proof whiskey. International markets offer these bottles only in a 1 litre size, with the exception of the first bottle in the series which was available only in the 750ml size.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber-gold with a warm honey glow and a delicate coppery sheen.
Nose
Silky vanilla and caramel rise first, layered with honeyed corn and toasty oak; citrus zest and a whisper of spice add lift, while a faint caramelized sweetness hints at its refined age.
Palate
Silky and balanced on the palate, with vanilla-cream sweetness and caramel giving way to toasted oak. Mid-palate delivers soft spice, cinnamon and clove, alongside a whisper of orange citrus. The finish is warm and refined, with lingering oak and a hint of maple sweetness.
Finish
Long, velvet-soft finish that lingers with toasted oak, caramel and vanilla. A delicate maple sweetness unfolds, driven by a whisper of spice, leaving a warm, clean fade that stays with you and invites the next pour.
