Gold Medal Series (1954) – Bottle # 6
Released 2005
1954 would present the opportunity to add another award to the Jack Daniel collection as a whiskey competition was to be held in Brussels, Belgium…Jack Daniel’s whiskey went on to win the Star of Excellence, awarded to whiskeys for a “surpassing of excellence.” This commemorative bottle celebrating that achievement was released in 2005.
Beginning in 1996 and continuing for the next 10 years, the Jack Daniel Distillery released its Gold Medal Series of commemorative bottles. Comprised of seven unique designs, each bottle in this series celebrates a different gold medal won by the Distillery. In the U.S., the series featured 750ml bottles filled with 90 proof whiskey. International markets offer these bottles only in a 1 litre size, with the exception of the first bottle in the series which was available only in the 750ml size.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich, sunlit amber with coppery-gold highlights and a warm honey glow.
Nose
Opulent vanilla and caramel lead the aroma, knitting with toasted oak and ribbons of toffee. Honeyed corn sweetness brightens the bouquet, touched by citrus zest, while cinnamon and nutmeg weave through the middle. A smooth, charcoal-mellow warmth lingers, inviting a luxurious sip.
Palate
Silky and medium-bodied on the palate, with rich caramel and vanilla unfolding into toasted oak. Subtle maple and brown sugar sweetness mingles with creamy corn, as spice emerges—white pepper, cinnamon, and a whisper of orange zest. The finish is long and warm, with balanced oak and a soft, lingering sweetness.
Finish
Long, silky and warming, with vanilla and caramel sweetness carried by toasted oak. Subtle spice threads through the finish, while a refined, charcoal-soft undertone lingers, fading to a polished, enduring glow.
