Isle Of Harris The Hearach First Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky
In stock
The Hearach is the first, historic Single Malt Whisky from the Isle of Harris, a small island sat off the far-northwest coast of Scotland. The distillery’s inaugural release is strongly influenced by its Outer Hebridean island home and will be a spirit of complexity and character. The whisky is the first legal dram from the island and every drop has been distilled, matured, and bottled in Harris by the local men and women of the distillery.
The Hearach was matured in a combination of first fill ex-Bourbon casks, and Oloroso and Fino Sherry butts. The Hearach is lightly peated to between 12 - 15ppm, bottled at 46% abv, non-chill filtered, and free from artificial colouring. A fruity and floral dram with flavours of toasted malt, sweet apple, vanilla and warming spice complimented by subtle wafts of smoke.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich natural amber with warm golden-copper hues and a hint of mahogany.
Nose
Fresh orchard fruit—bright apple and pear—carries toasted malt with vanilla and a whisper of spice. Subtle sherry notes bring dried fruit and a hint of nutmeg, while a delicate peaty edge and light smoke weave through the aroma. Floral, maritime, and inviting, the nose promises warmth, balance and the island’s distinctive character.
Palate
On the palate, toasted malt and creamy vanilla frame bright apple, with warming spice unfolding and a gentle whisper of smoke. Sherry-influenced from Oloroso and Fino butts lend subtle sweetness and depth, while a light peatiness keeps it maritime and balanced at 46%.
Finish
Long, warming finish of sweet apple and vanilla, toasted malt and gentle spice, with a delicate trail of smoke lingering as the sherry echoes fade.
