The journey to The Altus 25 Years Old started with “what if”, as every Glenmorangie creation does. With this mindset, they matured their signature spirit for 25 years in bespoke bourbon casks.
The result was worth the wait –a gloriously well aged whisky, its flavour magnified... Driven to reach even more decadent heights, Glenmorangie then married this whisky with a Madeira wine cask finish, elevating its profile as classic fruity tones meet heady sweetness and spice.
One of the very first people to sip this exquisite new expression? Glenmorangie’s biggest fan, Harrison Ford. When Harrison spent time with the Distillery Team in Tain, he was lucky enough to sample this quarter- century expression, before it had even left the distillery to be bottled! You will discover this tasting in Episode 10 of Once Upon a Time in Scotland.

Colour
Deep amber-gold with ruby-copper glints, a sunlit mahogany sheen.
Nose
An elegantly rich, softly aromatic bouquet that greets the nose with perfumed carnation and rose, orange blossom, honey and peach. Subtly enhanced by vanilla and almond, with a whisper of nutty toffee from the Madeira cask. Classic Glenmorangie fruit notes linger—peach and pear—brightening the bouquet.
Palate
Oily and luscious, opening to a cascade of sweet, fruity flavours: mandarin, apples, pears and peaches, punctuated by tart gooseberry and ripe yellow plums. Gently sweet butter-candy notes mingle with soft oak, yielding almond marzipan, icing sugar and ripe banana.
Finish
Long and luxurious, the finish lingers with orchard fruits—peach, pear and mandarin—woven with vanilla and almond from the Madeira finish. A kiss of honeyed toffee and warm spice stays on the palate, guided by soft oak, fading into a silky, marzipan-sweet glow.
