Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a touch of mahogany at the edge.
Nose
An aristocratic bouquet of dried figs and orange peel, walnut and almond from the sherry cask. Rich raisin sweetness and toffee mingle with polished oak, while hints of leather, antique tobacco, and cocoa lend old-world gravitas. Calm, refined, and inviting, it hints at decades of quiet maturation.
Palate
Silken and disciplined on the palate, this 55-year Glenlivet unfolds with caramelized orange, fig and dried apricot, tempered by walnut and almond. Subtle spice—clove and nutmeg—emerges with a whisper of cacao beneath a refined sherry warmth. Delicate oak and a light waxiness carry through to a long, polished finish, lingering with warm fruit and tobacco hints.
Finish
A long, refined fade of dried plum and fig, chocolatey cocoa and orange zest, married to warm toasted oak. Subtle spice lingers, with a gentle leather-and-almond finale.
