One of the most extraordinary maturations from The Singleton, first kept in refill wood, before double-maturing in two small ex-Madeira barriques for another fourteen years. A part of a one-off trial at Singleton, a sweet richness complements the light and elegant distillery character.
The Prima & Ultima 2nd Release has been personally hand-selected by Master of Malts Maureen Robinson; “I think this is one of the most extraordinary mature Singletons we have ever created. Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a whisper of mahogany, evoking sunlit caramel and refined maturity.
Nose
Fresh and lively, the nose unfolds with gentle mandarin citrus resting on a bed of sweet toffee, a delicate whisper of cut grass lending a bright, inviting zest.
Palate
Rich and creamy in texture, the palate opens with a generous wave of sweetness, immediately fruity and intensely composed of juicy orange notes. The luxurious mouthfeel coats the tongue, delivering a bright, fruit-forward intensity.
Finish
A growing savoury-spicy warmth blankets the palate, fizzing with a playful buoyancy. Creamy through its development, it finishes long and drying.
