This small batch release has been exclusively matured in the finest wine casks since 1999, adding a touch of French finesse to Glen Garioch's famously Rich Highland Character. The result is fruity, sweet and very spicy.

Rich and complex - layers of chocolate malt, autumn fruits like brambles, wild blueberries and plums, and warming oak spices, followed by nutmeg and ginger marmalade drizzled with heather honey. Sweet and spicy to the end, with chocolate, brambles and ginger.

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold sheen and a honeyed glow, inviting and warm.

Nose

Rich chocolate malt pairs with autumn fruits—brambles, blueberries and plums—and warming oak spices. Nutmeg and ginger marmalade mingle with heather honey, delivering a honeyed, sweet-spicy aroma. Wine-cask maturation lends refined French finesse to Glen Garioch’s deep, aromatic character.

Palate

Velvety and rich, the palate delivers honeyed sweetness and wine-cask perfume. Brambles, blueberries and plums mingle with dark chocolate malt as warming oak spices rise. Nutmeg and ginger marmalade drift alongside a thread of heather honey, finishing long, sweet and spicy with chocolatey, ginger-kissed notes.

Finish

Long and decadent, the finish weaves chocolate malt with autumn berries, slowly softening into warm oak. Nutmeg and ginger marmalade linger with drizzled heather honey, a sweet-spicy echo that persists with cocoa, brambles and a final fruity glow.

Records date Glen Garioch back to 1797, although there are unsubstantiated claims that the distillery is older still, which may make it the oldest working distillery in Scotland.
