Highland Whisky at it’s best. This rich, turfy Glen Garioch harks back to the days of the distillery’s own floor malting and direct fire stills.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep copper-amber with burnished-gold highlights and a hint of mahogany.

Nose

Earthy Highland peat bogs mingle with roasted barley, dark chocolate, honeycomb, leather and cigar leaf—a layered, inviting nose with warm, smoky depth.

Palate

Massive whack of herbaceous peat, resin, oak smoke and tar, moving to dried fruit, cocoa powder and dates.

Finish

A spicy finish builds, releasing enduring waves of smoke and turf that linger like peat-lit embers.

Glen Garioch
(glen-GEAR-ee) Glen Garioch is situated in Oldmeldrum in the rich arable lands of Aberdeenshire, so is classed as a Highland distillery. Records date Glen Garioch back to 1797, although there are unsubstantiated claims that the distillery is older still, which may make it the oldest working distillery in Scotland.
